Welcome to Festival 2017!
Wednesday April 19th – Sunday April 30th
Tickets now on sale on eventfinda and at Paper Plus Cambridge.
The festival is during the school holidays, and also when the town will be humming with athletes from across the globe for the World Masters Games rowing and track cycling events.
There’s something for everyone this festival…
Lyrica will take us on a journey of glitz, glamour and iconic moments from the silver screen, with their premiere of Hooray for Hollywood.
There’s an unmissable night of entertainment with The Parsons Autumn Accents – Evening of Jazz & Contemporary.
And there’s a night for orchestral music lovers, with the special Cambridge Festival Orchestra that has been formed to play at the festival. Conducted by well-known Waikato conductor James Tennant, the programme will include rising star and award winning cellist Mathias Balzat.
The Autumn Festival organisers are pushing all sorts of boundaries with events this year. There’s a Pecha Kucha Night, a Burlesque Show (for adults), Whitehall Ridge Traverse, and Random Acts of Poetry Day.
The list of events goes on. There’s Fashion over a Teacup, hosted by Hospice Waikato; the battle of the banks “Best Little Playhouse” competition and auction; the much anticipated awards night for the Cooney Insurance Short Story Competition; family fun at the Main Street Carnival Day and Autumn Art Market; a quirky new competition called “Be the Book” photography challenge; and, for the arty, there’s an all-day Art Workshop by renowned contemporary New Zealand abstract artist Richard Adams.
And for those who think the Autumn Festival is just too far away, there’s a pre-season concert to start the ball rolling – the Villani Piano Quartet will perform on Sunday 2nd April at 2.30pm,
