1. Entry is open to all New Zealand permanent residents, but the photo must be taken in the Waipā district. (Winners will be asked to provide proof of residency, winners of the Youth category will be asked to provide proof of age.)
2. Entry is free. An entrant can submit a maximum of 2 photos, each photo must be supplied one at a time (with a separate entry form for each photo) and both entries must be entered in the same category. The entry must be submitted by the photographer. The theme must be "Capture your Waipā adventure". Images should be jpeg or jpg files. Digital image manipulation is allowed (e.g. Photoshop). No watermarks on the photo. Photo must have been taken within the last 5 years. Entrants must ensure they have permission to photograph and exhibit any subject featured in their entries.
3. Entries are to be received no later than 5pm Thursday 22 February 2024.
4. The following photos and entrants are ineligible for entry:
- Photos of locations outside the Waipā district are ineligible.
- Drone/aerial photos are ineligible.
- First-place winners of our previous photo competitions are ineligible.
- Employees and immediate family of the competition sponsor (PAUA), Cambridge News, Te Awamutu News, Cambridge isite and the Cambridge Autumn Festival organisers are ineligible.
5. The winners will be contacted by phone. The winning entries will be announced 14 March 2024 - at the Cambridge Autumn Festival and on the Cambridge Autumn Festival website and Facebook page. The top entries will be chosen for a public photo exhibition during the Festival. From these top entries, the public will be invited to vote on their favourite photo in the People’s Choice award. The Cambridge Autumn Festival also wishes to display all photos on their website without compensation. Photos remain the property of the entrant. If any competition photos are stand-out images to promote the district to visitors, the Cambridge isite may be interested in touching base with the photographers after the competition to seek permission for their use.
6. Three prizes for Open Category - first prize is $250, second prize is $100 and third prize is $50. One prize for Youth Category - $150. One prize for People’s Choice award $50.
7. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Judging comments on individual photos will not be provided.
8. By entering the competition, entrants agree to the competition’s terms and conditions.
